Estate Agents In Lyminge

Lyminge is one of the larger villages in the Elham valley and as a result still maintains a successful cluster of local businesses. There is a thriving sense of community which is felt within the monthly newsletter, paid for by advertisements from local businesses, detailing the various events and clubs within the local area. The village dates back to Roman times around 63BC based on the district around the River Limen. The ancient church was founded by Queen Ethelburga in AD633 on the remains of the Roman buildings. The Elham Valley Railway ran from Canterbury to Folkestone through the village from 1887 until eventually closing ini 1947. The station building exists today as the library, situated off Station Road. Lyminge primary school has been classed by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in December 2011.
